Our Story & Our Difference
30 Years of Roots in Southwest Florida Soil.
We Did Not Come Here to Open a Nursery. We Came Here Because This Is Home.
Beltran Nursery & Landscaping was not built overnight. It was built through decades of learning this land its soil variations from Bokeelia to Punta Gorda to Cape Coral, its seasonal weather patterns, the plants that struggle in our salt air and the ones that seem to have been made for it. Over 30 years, we have accumulated a depth of local horticultural knowledge that no amount of online research can replicate. When you ask our team a question, you are getting an answer that comes from standing in Southwest Florida’s soil every single day for three decades.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything You Want to Know About Beltran Nursery & Landscaping
We get a lot of questions from homeowners and property managers across Southwest Florida about our farm, our plants, our process, and our service area. Here are honest answers to the most common ones. If you do not see your question here, call us at (239) 645-1656 and someone who actually knows will pick up
Q1: Where exactly is Beltran Nursery & Landscaping located?
Our main nursery and farm is located at 5495 Pine Island Road, Bokeelia, FL 33922 on Pine Island in Lee County. This is our primary operation: a working farm nursery where we grow our own palms and maintain a full selection of tropical plants, shrubs, trees, pottery, outdoor furniture, and garden decor. We are open Monday through Saturday. You can reach us at (239) 645-1656.
Q2: What makes Beltran's palm trees different from what I would find at a regular nursery or garden center?
The fundamental difference is that we grow our palms ourselves right here in Bokeelia, on Pine Island. Most nurseries and garden centers source their palms from wholesale distributors who grow them in different climates or different soil conditions, and the trees go through significant stress during transport and adjustment to Southwest Florida conditions. Our palms are grown from early stages in the same sandy, salt-air, high-sun Southwest Florida environment they will be planted in. By the time a palm leaves our farm, it has already proven it can thrive here. That translates directly into a stronger, healthier tree that establishes faster and performs better in your landscape over time.
Q3: Do you offer on-site landscape design consultations?
Yes. Our landscape design team will come to your home or commercial property anywhere in our service area for an on-site consultation. During this visit, we assess your soil type, drainage patterns, sun and shade areas, existing irrigation coverage, wind exposure, and your aesthetic preferences and maintenance goals. From that assessment, we develop a landscape design tailored specifically to your property’s conditions and your vision. Contact us at (239) 645-1656 to schedule a consultation.
Q4: What areas do you serve for landscaping and installation services?
We provide landscape design and installation services throughout Southwest Florida, with a primary focus on Pine Island, Bokeelia, St. James City, Matlacha, Punta Gorda, Port Charlotte, Cape Coral, Fort Myers, and North Fort Myers in Charlotte and Lee counties. If you are outside these areas, call us depending on the scope of the project, we may still be able to serve you.
Q5: What types of palm trees do you grow and sell?
At our Bokeelia farm, we grow and sell Areca palms, Adonidia palms (also known as Christmas palms), Foxtail palms, Pygmy Date palms, Sylvester palms, Bismarckia palms, and additional date palm varieties. Availability varies by season and growth stage. We recommend calling ahead at (239) 645-1656 to confirm current stock and sizing before making the drive.
Q6: What plants thrive best in Southwest Florida's climate?
Southwest Florida’s combination of sandy, well-draining soil, year-round warmth, intense sun, and periodic drought conditions creates an ideal environment for a specific range of plants that are often difficult to grow elsewhere. Our top performers include Areca, Foxtail, and Adonidia palms; flowering plants like Bougainvillea, Ixora, Hibiscus, Firebush, and Oleander; shade plants including Xanadu Philodendron, Variegated Ginger, and Cordyline; and drought-tolerant shrubs like Clusia, Red Tipped Cocoplum, Arboricola, and Blue Agave. Our team can advise you based on your specific yard’s sun, soil, and irrigation conditions.
Q7: Do you do commercial landscaping projects?
Yes. Beltran Nursery & Landscaping works with commercial property owners, HOAs, developers, and property managers across Southwest Florida. Our commercial services include landscape design, installation, plant and palm supply, mulch and sod, and hardscape installation. Commercial projects receive the same on-site consultation and design process as residential projects. Contact us to discuss your commercial landscaping needs.
Q8: Can I just come browse the nursery without a project in mind?
Absolutely. Our Bokeelia nursery is open to walk-in visitors Monday through Saturday. Many of our best customers started as casual browsers who just wanted to see what we had. There is no pressure to buy, no sales pitch just a well-stocked working farm nursery with a team that loves to talk about plants. Michael Carr Pottery, outdoor furniture, garden decor, and a full selection of plants and palms are available to browse at your own pace.
